Blue River Classic Youth Poultry Show

Join us for the Blue River Classic Youth Poultry Show! This exciting event brings together young poultry enthusiasts from across the region to showcase their birds and compete in various categories.

The show will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2026 at the Johnson County Fairgrounds in Gardner, KS. Registration is open from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m., and the show begins at 10:00 a.m.

This event is open to 4-H exhibitors ages 7-19. Each exhibitor may enter up to four birds total, with no more than two birds in any one class. Poultry classes are Young Bantam, Old Bantam, Young Standard, and Old Standard.

Showmanship divisions are Junior (ages 7-9), Intermediate (ages 10-13), and Senior (ages 14-19). All exhibitors must provide proof of a negative PT test or an NPIP certificate when they check in. PT testing will not be available at the show.

All birds will be checked for mites and lice, and sick birds will not be admitted. Awards and prizes will be presented to the top birds and showmen.
